Chaseedaw Giles is the Social Media Editor for Kaiser Health News. Her reporting has appeared in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, VICE, NPR, and the Daily Beast. Before KHN, as the Social Media and Communications Specialist for the American Society of Microbiology, she started the society’s annual Agar Art contest, where microbiologists draw on petri dishes with bacteria to create artwork. The international contest was featured in Huffington Post, Discover Magazine and USA Today. She also wrote about using social media for science communication in ASM’s Cultures Magazine. She has a BA in Communications from Boston College and received her Social Media Management Certification at Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies.
Why I am judging the awards... "I'm an artist and creative storyteller. I’m judging the awards to see what new and innovative ways these brands are telling stories that connect with their audiences. Social media continues to be a growing part of our everyday lives and the stories we tell have the potential to reach millions."
